在英國，首席醫療官（英語：Chief Medical Officers）是在公共衛生問題上的最資深政府顧問級別。目前。英國共有四位首席醫療官：

每位首席醫療官均由數名副首席醫療官協助，並獲一名首席護理官輔助。

首席医疗官必須是一位有行醫資質的医生，他們大部分人都有公共卫生医学專業背景，其工作重点是關注整個社区健康 [2] 英国首席医疗官歷史可以追溯到19世纪[3]。
