萬戶像，有伪字。

萬戶，一名陶成道，古譚先飛天之士大夫也。[一][二] 月有凹，名曰Wan-Hoo，蓋因此傳說而。[三] 好火藥，書《火器神技藝》。[四] 一三九〇年，卒。[五]

雖名，經典不見。[六] 居Joseph Needham所載，疑為古譚，或西人仿古時所造矣。[七] 但李約瑟獨以為其說可存，云歐洲之傳教士明朝清遊中國聞此志， 而本於古代迷之記。[八]

古譚

蓋聞明朝士大夫，名曰陶成道，從元朝封萬戶之名。一夜見月，而願飛天。欲飛月，而製椅與四十有七火箭，手持兩箏。一僕燃悉火箭，而火箭爆，即煙消雲散。[九][一〇] 故此傳說名曰《萬戶飛天》。其說不一。
