Novinka týdne

• Dočasné účty byly nasazeny na 18 velkých a středních Wikipedií, včetně německé, japonské, francouzské a čínské. V současné době pochází přibližně 1/3 veškeré aktivity nepřihlášených napříč wiki z dočasných účtů. Uživatele zapojené do patroly by mohly zajímat dvě nové stránky dokumentace: Přístup k IP, která vysvětluje vše související s přístupem k IP adresám dočasných účtů, a Repozitář se seznamem nových udělátek a uživatelských skriptů.

Novinky pro editory

• Každý si nyní může zahrát novou experimentální hru WikiRun, která vám umožní procházet Wikipedií klikáním z jednoho článku na druhý s cílem dosáhnout cílové stránky v co nejmenším počtu kroků a za co nejkratší dobu. Cílem projektu je prozkoumat nové způsoby, jak zaujmout čtenáře. Zkuste si hru zahrát a dejte týmu na diskusní stránce vědět, co si myslíte.
• Uživatelé aplikace Wikipedie pro Android si mohou v některých jazycích zahrát nový kvíz. „Co bylo dřív?“ je jednoduchý historický kvíz, kde se snažíte uhodnout, která ze dvou událostí v tento den se stala dříve. Předtím byl dostupný skrze A/B testování. Nyní je dostupný všem uživatelům v angličtině, němčině, francouzštině, španělštině, portugalštině, ruštině, arabštině, turečtině a čínštině. Cílem této funkce je pomoct oslovit nové generace čtenářů. [1]
• Uživatelé aplikace Wikipedie pro iOS mohou v některých jazycích zaznamenat novou funkci prohlížení v záložkách, která umožňuje otevírat více záložek během čtení. Tato funkce usnadňuje prohlížení souvisejících témat a přepínání mezi články. A/B testování aktuálně probíhá v arabštině, angličtině a japonštině ve vybraných regionech. • Byrokraté na projektech Wikimedia odteď mohou používat Speciální:Ověřit dvoufaktorové ověření, kterou zkontrolují, zda má daný uživatel zapnuté dvoufázové ověření. [2]
• V průběhu týdne bude na všechny projekty Wikimedia nasazena funkce související s Template Recall and Discovery: prohlížeč kategorií šablon, který uživatelům pomůže najít šablony, které si mohou přidat do seznamu „oblíbených“. Prohlížeč umožní uživatelům procházet seznam šablon, které jsou uspořádány do daného stromu kategorií. Tuto funkci si vyžádala komunita prostřednictvím seznamu přání komunity.
• Nyní je možné přistupovat k nastavením seznamu sledovaných stránek ze seznamu jejich změn. Také bylo odstraněno nadbytečné tlačítko pro úpravu seznamu sledovaných stránek. [3]
• Podívejte se na všech 27 úloh vytvořených komunitou, které byly minulý týden vyřešeny.

Novinky pro technické přispěvatele

• Součástí MediaWiki 1.44 je nyní jednotný vestavěný systém pro oznámení, který vývojářům usnadňuje odesílání, správu a přizpůsobení oznámení. Aktualizovanou dokumentaci naleznete v Manual:Notifications, informace o migraci v T388663 a podrobnosti o zastaralých háčcích v T389624.

  • We began research into current limits for collapsing entity usage. (Basically when an article uses more data from an Item than the configured limit then we consider all data on that Item to be used. This is done for infrastructure reasons.) We’d like to improve this to further reduce unnecessary Wikidata changes showing up on watchlist and recent changes on Wikipedia and co.
  • We will roll out showing labels instead of IDs in Wikidata edits in watchlist and recent changes to more wikis later this week.

• Doporučené šablony, nová funkce související s Vyhledáváním šablon, budou tento týden nasazeny na všechny projekty Wikimedia: Díky této funkci budou mít editoři rychlý přístup k seznamu šablon, které by mohly být užitečné. Tyto šablony se zobrazí v seznamu na kartě „doporučené“ v rozhraní pro vyhledávání šablon. Správci mohou seznam definovat prostřednictvím rozhraní Konfigurace komunity. Tato funkce je splněním přání ze Seznamu přání komunity. [4][5]
• Podívejte se na všech 31 úloh vytvořených komunitou, které byly minulý týden vyřešeny. Například byl vyřešen požadavek na přidání malajálamských písem do Nástroje pro export knih z Wikizdrojů, a vykreslování malajálamských písmen v exportovaných knihách z Wikisource je tak nyní přesné. [6]

• Wikibase REST API: We have enabled the new Item Prefix Search endpoint on wikidata. You can try it out now with a call like this: https://www.wikidata.org/w/rest.php/wikibase/v0/suggest/items?language=en&q=potat If you have feedback please leave it at Wikidata talk:REST API feedback round
• Additional APIs: We are looking a bit more into GraphQL and what it could offer to make programmatic access to Wikidata's data better.
• Wikidata integration in the Wikimedia projects: We enabled showing the labels of entities in edit summaries in recent changes and watchlist. Now you no longer have to click to get to Wikidata and check what is behind a mystery ID in an edit summary coming from Wikidata.
• Mobile statement editing: We are working on formatting references, qualifiers, various data types and multiple statements for one property. We are planning to enable the new mobile UI on Beta Wikidata soon. Important: For now it is a read-only UI, as we have not started to implement editing yet, and some data types won’t have the correct appearance yet.

• Funkce Návrhy překladů v nástroji Překlad obsahu má nyní v kategorii „... Více“ přidanou další úroveň filtrů článků. Překladatelé, kteří používají funkci Návrhy, si nyní mohou pomocí nového filtru „Regióny“ nechat zobrazit návrhy článků odpovídající geografickým oblastem, které je zajímají. [7]
• Správci odteď mohou omezit funkci „Přidat odkaz“ pouze na nováčky. Strukturovaný úkol „Přidat odkaz“ pomáhá novým účtům začít s úpravami, ale některé komunity požádaly o možnost omezit jej na zamýšlené publikum: nováčky. Správci mohou toto nastavení změnit pomocí Komunitní konfigurace.

• Na některých wiki mohou správci filtrů zneužití odteď filtrovat úpravy na základě skóre RevertRisk prováděné editace. Proměnná je nastavena pouze v případě, že vyhodnocovaná akce je editace. Více informací naleznete v dokumentaci ORES/AbuseFilter variables.
• Wiki z Beta clusteru byly přesunuty z beta.wmflabs.org na beta.wmcloud.org. Uživatelé mohou potřebovat aktualizovat URL adresy v různých nástrojích nebo ve správcích hesel. Jakékoliv související problémy lze nahlásit v tasku.

• Od 29. do 31. srpna se v Bernu, Švýcarsko, online i prezenčně koná WikiCite 2025. Cílem akce je znovu propojit komunity, instituce a jednotlivce pracující s otevřenými citacemi, bibliografickými daty a ekosystémem Wikidata/Wikibase. • Komunita Wikimedia Commons se k 16. srpnu rozhodla zablokovat nahrávání souborů z jiných wiki na Wikimedia Commons pro všechny uživatele, kteří na dané wiki nejsou automaticky potvrzení. Důvodem jsou rozsáhlé problémy související se soubory nahrávanými nově příchozími uživateli. Uživatelé, kterých se to týká, obdrží chybovou zprávu s odkazem na méně omezený nástroj UploadWizard na Commons. Prosím, pomozte s překladem hlášení nebo k jeho textu poskytněte zpětnou vazbu. Aktualizujte prosím také své lokální stránky nápovědy a vysvětlete toto omezení. [9]
• Na wiki se zapnutými dočasnými účty a Meta-Wiki mohou správci nyní nastavit zápatí na stránkách Speciální:Příspěvky dočasných účtů, podobné těm, která se zobrazují na stránkách IP adres a uživatelských účtů. Mohou to udělat vytvořením stránky s názvem MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer-temp. [10]

Novinky pro editory

• Editoři si nyní mohou zapnout kartu s informacemi o uživateli. Tato funkce přidává na stránkách historie nebo podobných stránkách s příspěvky uživatelů ikonu vedle uživatelských jmen. Po klepnutí nebo kliknutí na ikonu se zobrazí údaje související s daným uživatelským účtem, jako je počet úprav, vrácených úprav, blokování a další. Je to součást širšího projektu, který má moderátorům usnadnit vyhodnocování důvěryhodnosti účtu. Funkci lze povolit v vašich globálních nastaveních a později tento týden bude k dispozici i v lokálních nastaveních. [11]
• Všichni jsou zváni ke sdílení komentářů k projektu Collaborative Contributions, který nedávno spustil tým Connection. Cílem projektu je vytvořit nový způsob, jak zobrazit dopad společných editačních aktivit (jako jsou editatony, řešení restů a wikiprojekty) na wiki. Své komentáře zveřejněte na diskusní stránce projektu. [12]
• Správci nyní mohou definovat výchozí dobu blokování dočasných účtů. K tomu je třeba vytvořit stránku s názvem MediaWiki:Ipb-default-expiry-temporary-account a použít hodnotu definovanou v MediaWiki:Ipboptions. To umožňuje správcům snadno blokovat dočasné účty na 90 dní, což je funkčně ekvivalentní blokování na dobu neurčitou. Výhodou tohoto řešení je, že nezahlcuje stránku Speciální:Blokovaní uživatelé. K dispozici je další dokumentace. [13]
• Podívejte se na všech 27 úloh vytvořených komunitou, které byly minulý týden vyřešeny.

Novinky pro technické přispěvatele

• Udělátka nyní mohou načítat soubory .vue. Díky tomu je jednodušší vyvíjet moderní uživatelská rozhraní ve Vue.js, zejména pomocí Codexu, oficiálního designového systému Wikimedia. Pomocí definice udělátka lze načítat ikony Codexu. V dokumentaci jsou příklady. Pro uživatelské skripty používající Vue.js je nyní dostupný modul API, který umožňuje načítání ikon Codexu. [14][15]
• Vývojáři modulů nyní mohou používat rozhraní Lua ke zjednodušení přípravy Lua modulů pro překlad na Meta-Wiki. Toto vylepšení usnadňuje překladatelům vyhledávání a úpravu řetězců modulů, aniž by museli pracovat s jejich zdrojovým kódem. To pomáhá předcházet chybám, kterými by mohli modul během překladu narušit. Vývojáři modulů a překladatelé jsou vyzváni, aby se podívali na demo video, přečetli si více o přeložitelných modulech, aby pochopili, jak to funguje, podívali se na příklad použití v Module:User Wikimedia project na Meta-Wiki a podělili se o svou zpětnou vazbu k tomu, jak dobře rozhraní řeší výzvy v jejich pracovním postupu. Rozhraní má stále určité problémy s výkonem, takže by se zatím nemělo používat v široce používaných modulech. [16]
• Vývojáři externích nástrojů, které se připojují ke stránkám Wikimedia, musí nastavit user-agenta, který je v souladu s odpovídajícími pokyny. Tyto pokyny začnou být v srpnu přísněji vymáhány kvůli externím robotům, které nadměrně využívají zdroje Wikimedia. Nástroje hostované na Toolforge nebo Cloud VPS od Wikimedia tím prozatím nebudou dotčeny, i přesto by však měly mít user-agenta nastaveného. Další technické podrobnosti jsou k dispozici a související dotazy jsou vítány v rámci daného tasku.

Novinky pro editory

• Panel nástrojů WikiEditoru nyní obsahuje v popiscích tlačítek jejich klávesové zkratky. Díky tomu bude tato funkce mít lepší viditelnost. [18]
• Poradní sbor pro produkty a technologie (PTAC) zveřejnil soubor navrhovaných experimentů, které může Nadace Wikimedia zkusit ke zlepšení komunikace s komunitou. Zpětná vazba k návrhům je vítána do 22. srpna na této diskusní stránce.
• Vyhledávací panel ve vzhledu Minerva (mobilní web) byl aktualizován a nyní používá stejnou komponentu pro vyhledávání s predikcí textu, která se používá ve vzhledu Vector 2022. Ve vyhledávání nedošlo k žádným změnám, jen k drobným vizuálním změnám. Konkrétně se tlačítko pro zavření vyhledávání změnilo z „X“ na šipku zpět. Díky tomu jej lze snáze odlišit od druhého tlačítka „X“, které se používá k vymazání textu. [19]
• Editoři na některých wiki uvidí nový přepínač pro „Seskupení výsledků podle stránky“ na stránkách se seznamem sledovaných stránek, souvisejícími změnami a posledními změnami. Jedná se o A/B testování, jehož zahájení je plánováno na 11. srpna a které poběží 3–6 týdnů na Wikipediích v bengálštině, čínštině, češtině, francouzštině, řečtině, portugalštině a urdštině. Experiment prozkoumá, jak by zvýšení viditelnosti této funkce mohlo ovlivnit schopnost editorů nalézt ty úpravy, které hledají. [20]

• Datové sady Unicode data byly přesunuty do kategorie Unicode moduly s datovými sadami na Wikimedia Commons, aby se podpořila myšlenka „Jeden společný zdroj dat využívá více lokálních wiki“. Většina wiki byla aktualizována a používá verzi Commons. Dotazy můžete klást na diskusní stránce. [21]

• GraphQL: We are continuing some experiments with GraphQL to see if it is useful for specific types of access to Wikidata's data.

  • We are looking into improving the Databox Lua module that is used especially in smaller Wikipedias to get Wikidata-powered infoboxes.
• Federation: We are looking at the previous prototype for Federated Properties that allowed to use Wikidata's Properties on another Wikibase instance. We are checking what if anything of it can be revived for our current work to allow other Wikibase instances to use Wikidata's Items and Properties seamlessly.
• Data governance: We are concluding research around the current undestanding of people about which data should go where in the Wikibase Ecosystem.

• A/B testování porovnávající dvě verze odkazu na darování bylo pro 0,1 % odhlášených uživatelů desktopové verze 12. srpna spuštěno na testovací wiki a 14. srpna na anglické Wikipedii. Experiment poběží tři týdny a skončí 12. září. [24]

• Díky aktualizaci sanitizeru CSS používaného TemplateStyles mohou tvůrci šablon používat další vlastnosti CSS. Například width: fit-content, ruby-align, relativní jednotky jako lh a vlastní texty v list-style-type. Tato vylepšení jsou přáním z wishlistu. [31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40]
• Na velkých wiki se výchozí doba pro zobrazení editací na stránce Special:RecentChanges změnila ze 7 dnů na 1 den. Jde o součást iniciativy na zlepšení jejího výkonu. Vzhledem k množství úprav na těchto wiki by to na uživatele nemělo mít žádný dopad. [41]

Development

• Mobile editing of statements: We developed the first pieces of the edit mode as well as the ability to add statements. You can always follow along on beta Wikidata and find more information on the project page.
• Wikidata integration in the other Wikimedia projects: We are continuing to look into reducing the number of changes that show up on Wikipedia and co's Recent changes and Watchlist (phab:T401284)
• Federation: We looked at previous requests to add new endpoints to the list of SPARQL endpoints you can federate with and are cleaning up the process for getting new ones added. If you have one you'd like to write federated SPARQL queries to now is a good time to request them.
• Lexicographical data: You can now limit searches to Lexemes with a Lemma in a specific spelling variant with the haslemma keywords and to Lexemes with a specific language with the in language keyword. Examples: 1 2 (phab:T271776)
• GraphQL: We are evaluating feedback we received so far. If you are developing applications with Wikidata's data it'd be great if you could have a look at the current prototype and provide feedback.
• Dumps: We are experimenting to see how we can provide smaller subset dumps for Wikidata (phab:T400870)

Novinka týdne

• Tým Editing chce sestavit seznam šablon, žargonu a zásad používaných ve shrnutích editacích při odstranění porušení autorských práv. Toto jim pomůže identifikovat počet úprav vrácených z důvodu problémů s autorskými právy. Zveme členy komunity z následujících wiki, aby tyto výrazy uvedli v T402601 nebo aby se o svůj seznam podělili s uživatelem Trizek (WMF): Arabská Wikipedie, Česká Wikipedie, Německá Wikipedie, Anglická Wikipedie, Španělská Wikipedie, Perská Wikipedie, Francouzská Wikipedie, Hebrejská Wikipedie, Indonéská Wikipedie, Italian Wikipedia, Japonská Wikipedie, Korejská Wikipedie, Dutch Wikipedia, Polish Wikipedia, Portuguese Wikipedia, Turkish Wikipedia, Ukrainian Wikipedia, Vietnamská Wikipedie, Chinese Wikipedia. Novinky pro editory

• Rozšíření CampaignEvents bylo spuštěno na všech Wikizdrojích. Rozšíření usnadňuje organizaci společných aktivit na wiki, jako jsou editatony a wikiprojekty, a účast na nich. Rozšíření má tři funkce: Registrace události, Seznam událostí a Seznam pozvaných. Pro žádost o instalaci rozšíření na vaši wiki se podívejte na informační stránku Deployment. [47]
• Seznamy v zápatí editačního rozhraní, například „Šablony použité na této stránce“, budou nyní při dostatečném prostoru uspořádány do sloupců. Toto vylepšení minimalizuje rolování při úpravě dlouhých článků na Wikipedii. [48]
• Dne 3. září 2025 bude navýšen procentuální podíl vzorků pro náš experiment s přepínačem sbalování stránek Special:RecentChanges, Special:Watchlist a Special:RelatedChanges na čínské, francouzské a portugalské Wikipedii na 100 procent, což umožní zapojit do experimentu více editorů. Tato úprava má zajistit, abychom měli dostatek dat k informovanému rozhodování při hodnocení výsledků experimentu. [49][50]
• Po kliknutí na prázdný vyhledávací panel se odhlášeným uživatelům na anglické Wikipedii od týdne začínajícího 22. zářím zobrazí návrhy článků k dalšímu čtení. Tato funkce bude k dispozici na počítačích i mobilních zařízeních. Všechny ostatní wiki tuto změnu dostaly v červnu a červenci. Cílem je usnadnit uživatelům vyhledávání článků. Více informací.

• Wikifunkce odteď nabízejí novou funkci s názvem „jednoduché výčtové typy“. Výčtový typ je v podstatě fixní množina hodnot, která je součástí definice typu. Tato funkcionalita umožňuje rychlé a snadné definování takového typu a opětovné použití hodnot, které již jsou přítomny ve Wikidatech. Více se dozvíte v newsletteru.
• Je dostupný nejnovější Readers Newsletter. Toto vydání informuje o sestavení dvou nových týmů — Reader Growth a Reader Experience, klesajícím počtu zobrazení stránek a vytváření účtů, hlavních bodech diskusního panelu o zlepšení čtenářského zážitku na Wikimania Nairobi, nadcházejících experimentech se zapojením nových i stávajících čtenářů a dalších.
