Alpheya (legally registered as Quantum Wealth Tech Limited) is an Abu Dhabi-based financial technology company that develops artificial intelligence-powered wealth management software for financial institutions.[1] Founded in 2023 with a US$300 million capital commitment from BNY Mellon and Lunate, the company provides cloud-native wealth and trading solutions to banks, independent wealth managers, family offices, and investment firms.[2]

History

[edit]

Founding and investment

[edit]

Alpheya was established in June 2023 in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) with backing from BNY Mellon and Lunate, an Abu Dhabi-based alternative investment manager that is part of Chimera Investment, itself part of Abu Dhabi's Royal Group.[3] The two investors committed US$300 million in capital to the venture, with BNY Mellon also holding a minority stake in the company.[1][4]

Roger Rouhana, who previously served as head of strategy at BNY Mellon in New York for almost five years, co-founded and was appointed as CEO of Alpheya.[4] The firm's initial area of focus is the Gulf region's US$5 trillion wealth market, which was growing at 8 to 10 percent annually.[4]

By December 2025, it was reported that nearly US$50 billion in assets were running on the platform, representing approximately double the amount from the previous year.[2]

ADIO partnership and expansion

[edit]

In May 2025, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) announced a partnership with Alpheya to accelerate AI-led digital wealth management capabilities in the emirate.[5] As part of this partnership, Alpheya announced plans to open a new office in Al Ain and to make significant capital and operational investments over a three-year period.[6]

The partnership includes plans for Alpheya to register new intellectual property to facilitate the entry of foreign financial institutions into the Abu Dhabi market.[7]

Board appointments

[edit]

In September 2025, Alpheya appointed Mariam Almheiri to its board of directors.[8] Almheiri serves as Chairman of the International Affairs Office at the UAE Presidential Court and Group CEO of 2PointZero, an investment company focused on emerging technologies.[8]

Products and services

[edit]

Alpheya's platform provides AI-powered wealth management technology designed for banks, asset managers, and investment advisors serving high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market.[5]

The company's services include client onboarding, financial planning, portfolio construction, trading and rebalancing, risk management reporting, and analytics.[1] The platform uses open data architecture to meet data privacy and localised requirements across different markets in the region.[1]

Research

[edit]

In 2025, Alpheya commissioned a survey of 509 UAE-based investors conducted between May and July 2025. The survey found that 73 percent of UAE investors would embrace AI as an alternative to human advisors, while 70.8 percent said they would trust AI to manage their portfolios.[9]

Leadership

[edit]

Roger Rouhana serves as co-founder and CEO of Alpheya.[10] The company's leadership team includes executives with experience from Revolut, BNY, Citi, HSBC, Atlassian, and McKinsey.[10]
