Early life and education
[edit]Arathi Gayathri Devi was born in Varkala in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala.
Career
[edit]Arathi began working in the Malayalam film industry as a writer and soon transitioned to directing. Her debut feature, Theri Meri, which stars Shine Tom Chacko and Sreenath Bhasi, began principal photography in March 2024 and had its trailer released in mid-2025. The film, set among Kerala's tourism industry, was written and directed by Arathi and produced under the Texas Film Factory banner. The trailer and press coverage described the film as a blend of humour, suspense and offbeat thrills, and noted Arathi as a debut director to watch. [1][2]
In March 2024 the film's shoot was reported to have started in Varkala and other Kerala locations.[3]
Arathi was later named as the director of Paablo Paarty, a bilingual starring veteran actor Urvashi and her daughter Teja Lakshmi. [4]
