Comment: Firstly, do not remove previous decline templates from the draft. The draft still needs to be reworked, as right now it reads like a promotional piece for this company. Company history
Founding story
In the early 1990s, Mark Beaver drew on his early experience in the events industry, first working in marquee hire and lighting supply, then in event design, to establish his own production business, later trading under the name Event Concept. Initially based in Battersea, London, the company began by offering lighting and scenic production services to London’s distinctive event venues. It evolved its offering by bringing audiovisual, staging and technical production in-house, thereby transitioning from a specialist subcontractor to a full end-to-end event production provider.
Mark Beaver’s strategy emphasised aligning the production team closely with clients’ vision and acting as an extension of their in-house resources, rather than delivering purely vendor-style services. This emphasis on seamless delivery and internal capability building underpinned the company’s growth. (See Beaver’s own commentary on partnering with clients and investing in ‘the right capabilities’.) Event Concept.
By the mid-2000s the firm was operating at a multi-million-pound turnover, servicing high-profile corporate clients and international forums. In 2021 the business announced a management transition, with Adam Stanley appointed Managing Director and Mark Beaver moving into an advisory role. Event Industry News
Throughout its history, the production company has used a direct, in-house production model rather than relying solely on outsourcing.
In March 2024, as the company approached its 30th anniversary, Event Concept formally relaunched under the shortened brand name EC. The repositioning introduced a refreshed brand identity and a new strategic promise designed to reflect the business’s evolution from a production-focused organisation into a full-service event agency offering end-to-end strategy, creative content and execution. eventindustrynews.com
To support this shift, the company also undertook an internal restructuring to bolster its headcount and embed new strategic capabilities alongside its existing production base, positioning EC to serve as a true strategic partner for clients rather than simply a supplier. fieldmarketing.com
This repositioning marked a deliberate move to capture the growing market demand for integrated live, hybrid and virtual event experiences, and to signal that the business was evolving its service model, not only its brand. blog.eventplannernews.com

Sustainability'
Event Concept (“EC”) is a B Corp Certified agency, that embeds sustainability across its event production cycle, from the earliest stages of creative development through to delivery and post-event activities. Guided by a dedicated Sustainability Lead and a company-wide Green Team, EC’s strategy is structured around three core pillars: reducing its environmental footprint, engaging its community, and partnering with clients. Event Concept
In practice, EC designs with circularity in mind – prioritising reusable materials, low-energy solutions and local sourcing – and incorporates those priorities into each project. As the company explains: “We design with circularity in mind, prioritising reusable materials, low-energy solutions and local sourcing. Whether it’s immersive content over wasteful décor or post-event donations … we help clients deliver extraordinary experiences that align with their ESG goals, without compromising on creativity or impact.”
A significant component of EC’s social impact is the EC Impact Fund. Funded via a small contribution incorporated into every client project, the fund allows EC to invest back into sustainable solutions and community causes. The internal working group selects one environmental and one social charity beneficiary annually – past beneficiaries include Four Paws and The Felix Project.
EC publishes an annual Impact Report, which provides detailed metrics on carbon footprint, waste-to-landfill, employee wellbeing and other KPIs. Event Concept The company also holds multiple accreditations (including ISO 14001) and has articulated ambitious targets for 2030: to cut their baseline emissions by 50%, reach zero waste-to-landfill across their operations, and eliminate single-use plastic from their manufacturing process and facility. Conference News It aims to achieve net zero by 2050, eliminating single-use plastics from its manufacturing processes and becoming zero waste to landfill. Positive Planet Through these initiatives, EC aims to deliver its motto of “Impact without Impact”, seeking to lead change within the events industry by balancing creativity and sustainability.
