Scalefocus is a software engineering company founded in 2012.[1] and headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria [2] [3]

Scalefocus provides custom software solutions and nearshoring services that cover the entire software development lifecycle: Data and AI, Digital Engineering, Cloud and Operations, and Enterprise Platform Implementations. The company works with Fortune 500 enterprises and start-ups across various industry verticals, including IT, Financial Services, Energy & Utilities, Healthcare, iGaming, Aviation, and others. It has seven delivery locations in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Türkiye.  

Early years

In 2012, Scalefocus was founded in Sofia, Bulgaria, as an engineering company that provides custom software products and solutions[4].

In 2013, Scalefocus opened its commercial office in the United Kingdom.  

Timeline

2015 – the company expanded its commercial presence, opening an office in Germany.  

2016 – investment in AVIQ Systems and a new representative office in Switzerland.  

2018 – acquired Upnetix[5], a company specializing in custom software development and mobile solutions.  

2019 – acquired Centroida[6], a company specialized in blockchain, ML & AI.  

2020 – opened a new delivery center in North Macedonia[7] and a new commercial office in the United States.

2021 – opened a new center in Türkiye and a second delivery center in North Macedonia.

Scalefocus provides custom software solutions and services, including Data and AI, Digital Engineering, Analytics, Cloud and operations, Mobile and UI/UX, and implementations of enterprise platforms like Salesforce, Conga, and MuleSoft.  

It has industry expertise in IT, Financial Services, Insurance, Energy & Utilities, Healthcare[8], Logistics, E-Commerce, iGaming and Aviation, focusing on the North American, European, and Middle Eastern markets.  

Partnerships and Initiatives

Scalefocus partners with educational institutions to facilitate professional training in Bulgaria and North Macedonia. It organizes community events called Tech Savvy Talks to share knowledge with the local IT communities [9].  

The company supports various socially responsible initiatives, with their campaign "IT Beards," aimed at raising awareness about preventive medical examinations and collecting donations for charitable causes [10][11].  

Scalefocus also supports the young Bulgarian racing talent Nikola Tsolov, who currently competes in Formula 3.
