History

[edit]

ScarCSS was created by Zawiyar Awan and released in November 2025.[1] The framework was developed by Scarfaze Technologies, a technology company founded in January 2024 by Zawiyar Awan and based in Pakistan.[1] The framework is distributed under the MIT License and is available through npm (Node Package Manager).[citation needed]

Technical approach

[edit]

Unlike traditional CSS frameworks that use class attributes, ScarCSS employs custom HTML attributes for applying styles to elements.[citation needed] The framework uses two primary attributes:

  • @scar: For styling purposes
  • @action: For interactive behaviors

The framework is implemented in JavaScript and processes HTML elements containing these custom attributes.[citation needed]
