Siltech is a Dutch manufacturer of high-end audio cables, founded in 1983 and based in Elst, Netherlands.[1] The company is known for its use of proprietary silver and gold metallurgy in cable conductors and its focus on ultra-low distortion signal transmission.[2]

History

[edit]

Siltech was founded in 1983 in Nijmegen, Netherlands, by Hans de Ligt and Michel de Goey.[3]

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Siltech introduced successive cable generation lines—including G2, G3, and SQ Classic—featuring longer crystal grain structure and the addition of 24k gold conductors in silver cables to improve conductivity and sound texture.[4]

In 1992, electronics engineer Edwin van der Kley Rijnveld took ownership of Siltech and significantly expanded its research capabilities, introducing a deeper focus on metallurgy-driven cable design.[5][6]

By 2023, Siltech celebrated its 40th anniversary as a recognized name in high-end cabling across global audiophile markets, maintaining a reputation for technical innovation and craftsmanship.[7][8]

Products

[edit]

Siltech’s cables are used in high-end home audio and professional applications. Notable products include the Classic Legend series,[2] the Royal Crown series,[9] and the Master Crown flagship cables.[10] The brand is also known for using advanced materials such as Kapton, Teflon, and PEEK insulation.[11]

Reception

[edit]

Siltech has received awards and positive critical reception from industry publications. The company’s Classic Legend 880 series won a Golden Ear award from The Absolute Sound in 2023.[12] Reviews in Audiotechnique have highlighted the Master Crown series for its low noise floor and dynamic range.[13]
