History
[edit]Torc was founded in 2021 by Michael Morris and Dave Messinger, who previously held leadership roles at Topcoder.[1] In March 2023, Torc acquired Codealike, a Buenos Aires-based coding performance measurement company.[2] In May 2024, Torc was acquired by Randstad Digital, a division of Randstad.[3]
Platform

According to Staffing Industry Analysts, the company had more than 25,000 developers enrolled worldwide as of 2024, with an emphasis on Latin America, the United States, and India.[3] Developers create profiles, participate in skills assessments, and are matched to job openings using artificial intelligence tools.[2][4] The platform focuses on six developer roles: front-end developer, back-end developer, full-stack developer, DevOps engineer, software architect, and Salesforce developer.[4]
Business model

Acquisitions
[edit]In March 2023, Torc acquired Codealike, a platform for developer productivity measurement.[2] In May 2024, Randstad Digital acquired Torc.[3]
