Documenting and improving Nigerian Restaurants and Eateries on Wikidata, is a project that is aimed at updating and improving the number and quality of contents on Wikidata. The goal is to increase the number and visibility of Nigerian Restaurants and Eateries on Wikidata by creating and adding more items as well as providing a geo-location for easy accessibility of information.

The project is aimed at improving the index capacity and quality of contents and creating visibilty for Nigerian Restaurants and Eateries on Wikidata by adding location and other informations which can help the community by improving the list of restaurants and eateries existing on wikidata.

The project will take the form of an edit a thon where participants will be creating and improving Items on wikidata for duration of 7 days.

Project Details

Launch: The project will be launched on 16th of November 2025 with a training session.

Expectations

During the session, participants will be opportune to:

1. Learn how to search for lists and details of Nigerian Restaurants and Eateries online
2. Learn how to check if the Nigerian Restaurants and Eateries are already existing on Wikidata as an Item.
3. Learn how to create a Wikidata Item.
4. Learn how to improve an already existing Wikidata Item by adding coordinate location and other missing statements.
