Object Z is a six-part British television science fiction series made by Rediffusion, first transmitted by the ITV in 1965.[1]

Plot

A mysterious object is found to be approaching Earth by Prof Ramsay. Its impact could destroy life on Earth, causing panic. TV producer Barry and his assistant Winters become involved in events. It is eventually revealed to be a hoax, designed to unite humanity.[2]

The show was produced and directed by Daphne Shadwell.[3]

Sequel

A 6-episode sequel, Object Z Returns, was shown in 1966, but the episodes were wiped from the archives.[3][4]

Home media

The whole series was released on a Region 2 DVD and Blu-ray in 2025.
