The Row Collection is a collection of philatelic material relating to Siam that forms part of the British Library Philatelic Collections. The collection covers the period 1883 to 1918 in 22 volumes. It is mainly of unused material with many blocks, and strong in the various provisional surcharges. It also includes some postal stationery and issues used in Kedah and Kelantan. It was formed by Harold Row and presented to the British Museum in 1919 by Row's mother, Mrs Eliza Row.[1]

Digitisation

[edit]

In 2025, the Row Collection was digitised under the curatorship of Richard Scott Morel, with scans hosted on the Internet Archive and metadata indexed by The National Archives via 'Find an Archive' on their Discovery database. The project followed ISAD(G) standards and was licensed under CC BY 4.0.

To enhance discoverability, persistent URLs were embedded into metadata records and backlinks were seeded via Wikipedia, LinkedIn, and institutional platforms. As of November 2025, seven subseries have been indexed by Google, with further indexing anticipated.

A public announcement of the digitisation is scheduled for publication in the December 2025 issue of *The London Philatelist*. A follow-up digitisation of the Tapling Collection is planned to commence in 2026.
