Israel prize winner 2026

Professor Benjamin Weiss from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem has been selected as the Israel Prize laureate in mathematics, computer science and computer engineering for 2026. The committee that chose him stated that Prof. Weiss is one of the greatest researchers in the field of dynamics, a pillar of the mathematical community who has shaped generations of researchers in Israel and worldwide. His profound research, spanning over 60 years of activity and more than 200 papers, has redefined the mathematical understanding of randomness phenomena in deterministic systems.
