Binomial nomenclature of dog

I have seen that the binomial nomenclature of dog had been Canis lupus familiaris but have also seen Canis familiaris being used in literature. Can someone let me know if they understand why both can be found? AlexIsAnEditor (talk) 03:09, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

As I remember the nomenclature of dog changed to Canis lupus familiaris from Canis familiaris in 1993. We should continue using Canis lupus familiaris in the article. SandwichCat123 (talk) 03:13, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
