mentioning the wild hunt as a tradition

From what I know, the wild hunt is a mythological event, and it's contents are not traditionally replicated by any group, I have no idea why the wild hunt is mentioned as a tradition, but it is. CookingWithNitroglycerin (talk) 18:48, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In modern Welsh, yes, but that meaning didn't evolve until the 19th century and is likely a coincidental homophone evolving from nudyew (15c) > nyddach (18c) > nudd (19c). So as cool (and, knowing old Welsh names, absolutely in their style) to be called White son of Mist, it would be anachronistic to attribute that meaning to ancient Nudd :)
