Combining with Flow velocity
[edit]I would like to suggest that this page is combined with the Flow velocity page. Mauxb 19:13, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Unsure what Nabla represents?
[edit]Could anyone explain as to what Nabla represents on this page? It is also used in many of the other pages on hydrodynamics but is never explained. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.159.84.121 (talk) 10:56, 21 May 2012
Phi?
[edit]hello, I personally find it confusing to use phi and varphi to refer indiscriminately to the velocity potential? I know it's the same letter but still. Is there any reason for this? Otherwise I would suggest to stick to one symbol Ixnay (talk) 16:50, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- I see that it has been modified, thank you. Ixnay (talk) 11:33, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
Has a real physicist looked at this?
[edit]I think it's nonsense, but even with a degree in the subjects, I can't be sure. I sounds tough - but velocity of what? Potential - to do what? The only physics I am aware of for the use of "potential" is in gravity and electro-magnetism, and we certainly are not dealing with either of those fields of physics. And is Anderson the only adopter of the term? Gpsanimator (talk) 23:06, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
