Requesting elaboration on paragraph about visual backward masking
[edit]I was redirected to this article trying to find out the meaning of visual backward masking.
Unfortunately the paragraph here does not explain it in a meaningful way, specifically the line: "In visual backward masking (VBM) a briefly presented target is followed by a mask, which decreases performance on the target. "
Using only the information in this Wikipedia article there is no way to tell what is meant by the words "target" or "mask" and there is no referral.
I followed up the source of that line, and in the book the terms are explained. However without that context the paragraph in this article is impossible to understand.
Personally my English is not good enough to give a proposal on how to reword this subject in a way that's more understandable, so I hope an editor could help out.
