Hello! My name is Surya, although I go online by the name Gears (which unfortunately is taken everywhere). I'm a programmer and specialist in programming languages and compilers. Currently, I'm part of the core team developing the Gleam programming language.

I'm a big fan of open source projects, and community-driven projects like Wikipedia. I made a Wikipedia account because I thought the idea of a community-editable website was neat. I initially thought I would just be "contributing a few edits here and there", but then suddenly I found that I had made over 500 edits in one month, and was thoroughly addicted.
