- An RfC is open to determine whether the English Wikipedia community should adopt a position on AI development by the WMF and its affiliates.
- A new feature called Multiblocks will be deployed on English Wikipedia on the week of June 2. See the relevant announcement on the administrators' noticeboard.
- History merges performed using the mergehistory special page are now logged at both the source and destination, rather than just the source as previously, after this RFC and the resolution of T118132.
- An arbitration case named Indian military history has been opened. Evidence submissions for this case close on 8 June.
- Voting for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election is open until 17 June 2025. Read the voting page on Meta-Wiki and cast your vote here!
- An Articles for Creation backlog drive is happening in June 2025, with over 1,600 drafts awaiting review from the past two months. In addition to AfC participants, all administrators and new page patrollers can help review using the Yet Another AFC Helper Script, which can be enabled in the Gadgets settings. Sign up here to participate!
- The Unreferenced articles backlog drive is happening in June 2025 to reduce the backlog of articles tagged with {{Unreferenced}}. You can help reduce the backlog by adding citations to these articles. Sign up to participate!

Get ready to submit your candidacy, or (with their consent) to nominate a talented candidate!

Can you un move-protect South Korea and Japan?
[edit]The vandals are mostly gone and protection is only needed when necessary. ExoNeos (talk) 22:30, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- @ExoNeos: The level of move protection for the two pages has been lowered to ECP. Anarchyte (talk) 06:09, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- Can you do the same with Australia and New Zealand too? ExoNeos (talk) 16:40, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- Done. Anarchyte (talk) 11:53, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sega Genesis, Wii and Xbox 360 would be good candidates too. ExoNeos (talk) 03:39, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

- FYI: ExoNeos is a new editor who has recently made several bordeline-disruptive unprotection requests at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Decrease, all of which I have declined because they did not demonstrate an understanding of what constitutes valid reasons for unprotection (the mere fact of time passing is not a valid reason, and lack of vandalism means protection is working as intended). For Sega Genesis, Wii, and Xbox 360; all of those articles have a recent history of reverts during the protection period and all are high-visibility pages with 1000-2000 page views per day. They don't appear to be candidates for unprotection. They may be candidates for PCP, if PCP wouldn't burden the community with an unreasonable amount of edit reviews and approvals. ~Anachronist (talk) 04:18, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- No, I meant to say that the move protection of these articles should be lowered to ECP. ExoNeos (talk) 14:21, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Based on what? There is no reason to change the move protection of those articles, because there is no reason for anyone but an administrator to rename them. You're just creating needless work with these requests. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:20, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know. ExoNeos (talk) 16:44, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the note. I was slightly confused by the requests, but I've always been of the opinion that articles should be at their lowest possible level of protection so I thought I'd humour them. I do agree that move protection should be considered in a different category, as (for instance) there will never be a good need for anyone to move Australia anywhere. I won't be reinstating the protection as ECP should be sufficient on these articles, but I won't be actioning any of the others. Cheers, Anarchyte (talk) 13:33, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

Revdel?
[edit]Hi Anarchyte, I've redacted a link to some primary info from [1] in this edit. Would you mind revdelling? (Hope that's ok - not hit this issue before / not sure if I should have redacted further) ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 13:49, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. They have been revdel'd. Oversight not necessary as it is an easily googleable thing. Anarchyte (talk) 06:37, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
