why are templates somtimes very buggy and dont work in visual editor? --Ryan4729 (talk) 16:42, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- I still struggle with templates in VE as well. I'm not sure there's a way to edit templates in VE. Also not sure about bugs, so I'd ask that at the Village Pump. Hope this helped. CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 16:54, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- @CREditzWiki and @Ryan4729 I think a reason why templates are buggy in VisualEditor. Templates in the template namespace cannot be edited in VisualEditor but you can if you are editing a template in for example user space, VisualEditor is enabled, and will make some bugs. I think it is buggy because it was not meant to be edited on VisualEditor. ~Rafael (He, him) • talk • guestbook • projects 14:59, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Theykilledravi (02:56, 10 October 2025)
[edit]How to create My own profile at Wikipedia --Theykilledravi (talk) 02:56, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean a page about yourself that would be an article, we discourage editors from doing that about themselves. If you are notable, someone else will write an article about you. If you mean a user page, click the person icon (top right on desktop), click talk, and in the top left, you will see something that says user page. Click that and you'll be able to make a little page about yourself. Note that this should not be written like an encyclopedia. Instead write it like it's you telling yourself to the world. Hope this helps. Cheers, CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 12:07, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
Closing AfDs
[edit]Hey there, I don't want to scare you off of closing AfDs, but I just had to revert this close [1] of yours because 1. it wasn't formatted correctly and incorrectly marked many other discussions on the AfD log page as closed, and 2. you shouldn't close discussions when you are unable to execute the outcome of the close per WP:BADNAC #3 (in this case, since you cannot delete pages, you shouldn't close as delete). Best, Toadspike [Talk] 15:10, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- To prevent similar formatting mistakes, I suggest using the XFDcloser gadget. That link has instructions on installing it. Toadspike [Talk] 15:13, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah I noticed it I had screwed up the formatting and tried to format it with the formatting I used for another AfD closure which was formatted correctly. Thanks for fixing that, and I'll take a gander at that before I do anymore AfD closings. Cheers. CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 15:26, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Not sure how to tell whether or not the script has been installed. I'm missing instructions on this one. CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 15:44, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- From the main XFD closer page it says all I have to do is save the preference. CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 15:45, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- I apologize for making this hard, I just want to help with AfD backlogs. Seems it could use some help. CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 15:47, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- @CREditzWiki, AfD is pretty well-handled and there are lots of much, much worse backlogs that need some love, if you'd be interested in dealing with some of those? To handle AfDs, you need a lot of AfD experience before you can even really get started. I see you're interested in sports. You could really help out some of the sports wikiprojects by rating some of their articles. You'll want to install WP:RATER first, which makes this really easy. Then, go to this page. See how there's a grading scheme table? What you're doing is looking at the articles that are in the "unassessed" bin and rating them against that table. As for importance, you almost always leave that as "low" for new articles these days. Here is a list of all the unassessed ones - over 3000 of them! While you're going through these and rating them, you might also want to use WP:TWINKLE to tag any outstanding issues that you see. You should also have a read of WP:GFYE before you get started on anything else. Let me know if you have any questions! -- asilvering (talk) 16:38, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Absolutely I'd be willing to help. I already have Twinkle on in my preferences, but I'm unsure how to use it. I'm currently trying to set it up. CREditzWiki (Talk to me!!) 17:17, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- If you've turned it on in your preferences, it should already be ready to go. There are additional settings at [2], but you shouldn't need to tweak any of those when you're just getting started. -- asilvering (talk) 17:35, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
