@Reki Fadhullah AKA Abu Khabr: If you created those rank images yourself based on photos taken at the Satria Mandala Museum, please feel free to upload the rank images to Commons so they can be added to the article. Bupati articles deletion

Hi Ckfasdf. I saw that you created AfD nomination for some bupatis because they do not pass WP:NPOL. Majority of the bupati's AfD resulted in soft deletion. However, I found that there are bupati articles that not only pass WP:GNG, but also appeared on the ITN and DYK such as Saply TH, Kalatiku Paembonan, Husnie Hentihu, Azmun Jaafar, Harunata, Mochamad Hasbi, Ratna Ani Lestari, Hasto Wardoyo, and Najmul Akhyar. @Faldi00: Per WP:NPOL, only those who have held international, national, or province-wide office, or who have been members of legislative bodies at those levels, are presumed notable. However, if a bupati receives sufficient significant national coverage, then they may qualify under WP:GNG. I emphasize national coverage here, since any bupati will naturally receive some local coverage, which may not qualify to establish notability, see WP:MILL. Per WP:AUD, which also can be applied here, Significant coverage in media with an international, national, or at least regional audience (e.g., the biggest daily newspaper in any US state) is a strong indication of notability. at least regional audience - I mean, that is provincial. "Local" for places like e.g. Surabaya or Makassar would be a larger audience than some US states. Outlets like Jubi or Bangka Pos (admittedly latter has been Tribun-ized, but point stands) would qualify under the later definition. Juxlos (talk) 07:03, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

every newspaper that has a regional media market (e.g., The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, Star Tribune, The Boston Globe)...all regional, statewide, provincial, national, or international magazines and other periodicals (e.g., Sports Illustrated, Good Housekeeping, Bloomberg Businessweek, Editor & Publisher, Aviation Week & Space Technology; however, exclude periodicals with limited interest or limited circulation) Regards, Jeromi Mikhael 14:04, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeromi Mikhael: Note that Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)/Audience requirement is an essay of policy, not the policy itself. However, I agree with its conclusion that the purpose of the restrictions on media... is to include in Wikipedia subjects that have received attention from the world at large. By that standard, relatively unknown bupati (regents), some of whom dont even have an article on idwiki, are unlikely to have received attention from the world at large. IMO, we also do not need articles for all 363 bupati in Indonesia unless they are clearly notable beyond their local area. Ckfasdf (talk) 01:21, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Do we count Tribun as each a chain of separate provincial papers so happened to be owned by a company owned by an even larger company or is it the larger tribun network with local sections for different regions Technetium 99m (talk) 17:11, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Technetium 99m:I'd suggest avoiding the use of local sections of a major news chain as the basis for establishing notability.
