Thank you very much for all of the work you did with adding the World Series champion link to all of the infoboxes! Red0ctober22 (talk) 15:55, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Red0ctober22: Oh thank you! I remember that WP:JWB edit run, in May I think. If there are any other mass-editing tasks with consensus like that from sports WikiProjects, let me know, and I'll consider helping. Left guide (talk) 16:02, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Left guide,

Could you double-check your closure here? Because it looks like you closed the discussion with a redirect to a redirect that leads back to the AFD discussion. I'm not sure how to fix this so I leave it in your hands. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 23:07, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: Good eye, thanks for catching this. I typically check that the target exists before closing as redirect and don't know what happened here. I think I'll simply revert my set of actions, and add a note to the AfD. Left guide (talk) 23:13, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with your decision

[edit]

I respectfully disagree with the closure as a redirect. The subject clearly meets notability guidelines based on independent and significant coverage in reliable sources. To clarify: The Hans India has published an independent article with significant coverage. This source is considered reliable under WP:ICTFSOURCES. DNA India also provides independent and substantial coverage, and is similarly recognized as a reliable source under WP:ICTFSOURCES. NDTV features independent coverage that is both in-depth and directly about the subject, and is unquestionably reliable. In addition to these, the subject has been covered in several other notable publications, though I’ve not listed them here due to potential concerns about independence. Furthermore, the individual has been involved in multiple notable projects, and their contributions have received recognition, reinforcing their notability. Given these points, I believe redirecting the article was premature and not in line with Wikipedia’s notability standards. Please reconsider this decision.Angelmonaa (talk) 07:10, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Hello, Angelmonaa ,
Speaking as a fellow editor who gets a lot of questions on her talk page, you will likely get a faster response if you would include a link to the AFD discussion or, at least, the article you are concerned about. Because that seems like a very important fact that you never mention in your entire statement here. What AFD/article are you upset by? Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 08:13, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I am talking about this Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Avinaash V. Rai (2nd nomination). Angelmonaa (talk) 08:29, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Angelmonaa: Hello, my close of redirect was based on an assessment of the discussion's consensus which was clear in this case; all of the community members who participated were against retaining the article, and my job as closer is to simply follow the will of the community. If you wish to directly challenge and overturn the close, you may appeal at deletion review but please be aware that the community in that venue generally assesses the closer's judgment, and not the subject or its sources. An alternative option available is to work on a draft in draftspace for improvement, and then re-submit it using the WP:AFC process for an independent editor to review. Regards, Left guide (talk) 14:47, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, no I don’t think this should be redirected. I know I’m not very experienced here, but I think the subject is more notable now. The last discussion was in 2017 when he only had one project out, but now he has released more and there’s better coverage in reliable sources.
I feel like this should have been looked at more closely before closing.
Liz (Admin Mam), I’d really like to know your opinion on this if possible, and I’d really appreciate any help. Angelmonaa (talk) 13:41, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Angelmonaa,
Notability, in the sense we use on Wikipedia, is unrelated to the number of projects a producer has released. This month's discussion was closed based on sources available now, not based on information avaliable in 2017. The 2017 AfD played no role in how the recent AfD was closed.
You are, of course, welcome to contact Liz or any other admin about this, or take the case to WP:DRV, but I doubt you'd get a very different response. Is Mr. Rai the only reason you edit Wikipedia? I find it more productive to focus on articles you are not personally connected to.
Happy editing! Owen× 17:05, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sir,
Mr. Rai is not the only reason but If someone is notable and has significant independent coverage in reliable sources, the article should not be deleted. His work has been covered, and I would request you to please check the news sources again. Angelmonaa (talk) 12:09, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
no Declined. There is no basis in policy for me or for the closer to overturn a unanimous consensus. If that means you won't get paid for the work you've done on the article, you have my sympathy. Owen× 12:17, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect Drifter (upcoming film) has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Anyone, including you, is welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 September 26 § Drifter (upcoming film) until a consensus is reached. Was draftified with a very thin consensus three weeks ago. One commented that the article wasn't notable whereas its the person who has to be notable. I have moved the article back into the main space and added lots of refs that were readily available (e.g. on de:wiki) to confirm the notability. Maybe a re-posting could have been considered? Victuallers (talk) 13:47, 28 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Victuallers: Hello, consensus was clear there, with a quorum of three participants advocating against keeping the article in mainspace at that time, so re-listing wouldn't have been prudent, especially since AfD participation has been low as of late. The way you restored it and added several sources is what the community encourages with this sort of AfD result; this is the draftification process working as intended. Thank you for rescuing this article. Left guide (talk) 15:36, 28 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
