Notability and COI

[edit]

Hi NamicGreen, thanks for disclosing a conflict of interest (COI) regarding "Artificial Intelligence Journalism Integration Model". However, the lead section should summarize the most important aspects of the topic (WP:LEAD). Mentioning your new research work in the first paragraph is generally undue weight, and it's unclear whether it's sufficiently notable to be in these articles at all unless there are independent secondary sources covering it. If you think some coverage of it is warranted, you can add the {{edit COI}} template on an article's talk page, mentioning multiple sources supporting the notability of the topic, so that other users can assess due weight. Alenoach (talk) 14:12, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Alenoach: Thanks for the guidance and the reminder about due weight and WP:LEAD.
I’ve disclosed my COI and will avoid direct edits on related pages.
I’ll switch to talk-page edit requests with a single neutral sentence plus a high-quality source, and I’ll hold any lead placement until there is independent secondary coverage.
If any of my recent one-liners feel undue on placement, happy to have them moved out of the lead or removed.
Appreciate any further pointers on best placement/weight. NamicGreen (talk) 14:18, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your understanding. I have indeed removed the additions. I believe the best placement would be in Environmental journalism. Alenoach (talk) 14:35, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, if you have expertise on the topic and are interested in adding reliable, secondary sources for which you have no COI to the article Environmental journalism, you are welcome to do so, that would be valuable. Alenoach (talk) 14:55, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Alenoach: Thanks again for the guidance.
I’ve now posted a COI edit request at Talk:Environmental_journalism proposing a single, sourced sentence (outside the lead) and leaving placement to editors.
I’ll continue to use talk-page requests and hold lead placement until there’s independent secondary coverage. NamicGreen (talk) 16:26, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I want to inform you that the draft review process often rejects drafts based on insufficient notability, and a draft on a newly published research paper isn't going to be accepted by the reviewers. Alenoach (talk) 14:42, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You should also remove the draft from your user page, all drafts should begin with "Draft:" as you did here. Alenoach (talk) 14:46, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
