Disclosing WMF affiliation when making work-related asks with your volunteer account
[edit]Just for cross-reference, a link to a friendly reminder to please disclose your affiliation with the Foundation when using your volunteer account to proffer exhortations to the Signpost team about topics that may have a relation with the work of what is stated as being your team on your user page. (Btw is there a reason why you are not listed under "The team" at m:Wikimedia Foundation/Communications/Movement Communications?) Regards, HaeB (talk) 22:46, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the (very reasonable) note, @HaeB. I replied to your main comment at the linked discussion.
- Regarding the staff list, the Product Movement Communications Ambassadors are part-time contractors who are part of Movement Communications but embed with product teams. I'm currently with the Growth and Editing teams, and am listed on the Growth team's page. There might be a better way to organize all that information; I'll inquire about it.

- Appreciate your understanding. Regarding the on-wiki documentation, I'd just float the idea that maybe the community and the public are less interested in the exact payroll status of each individual, and more e.g. in an overall list of WMF folks working for this part of the org. (In this particular example, it's also a bit confusing that e.g. your colleague Benoit is listed in both places.)
