On removal of closed requests
[edit]In case you missed it: Special:Diff/655804. You've been removing closed requests too soon, which makes it harder for others to navigate to the request pages and review the results. What's the point of removing those requests so early? There have also been cases where requestors didn’t seem to check Wikipedia:Requests/Tools, so leaving closed requests visible for a reasonable amount of time can help them refer to the results of previous requests and any links provided therein. Dragoniez (talk) 15:16, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Dragoniez, there have been cases where requests are often removed quickly if responded or acted upon. But in the future, I will mandate a three day wait for declines and a day for accepts. ToadetteEdit (talk) 15:38, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'm saying that's too early. What is the reason for needing to remove the requests so quickly? I've outlined the downsides of doing so and do not see any real benefits. Unlike on some production wikis, people aren't always around, which means they could simply miss the opportunity to see previous requests. If there are no clear advantages, please stop doing it. To be frank, your edits have been unconstructive. Dragoniez (talk) 15:50, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, but the reason why I removed three requests that quickly was to clear out the acted upon cases and only leave the open cases—that is to say clutter the mess. ToadetteEdit (talk) 16:07, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Now I see your intent, but that is achieved by the coloured
divs. The downsides are more significant. Dragoniez (talk) 16:21, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
