การแข่งขันฟุตบอลโลก 2022 รอบคัดเลือก โซนเอเชีย - รอบแรก เป็นการแข่งขันฟุตบอลในทวีปเอเชียเพื่อคัดเลือกทีมฟุตบอลเข้าแข่งขันฟุตบอลโลก 2022 รอบสุดท้ายที่ประเทศกาตาร์ ซึ่งอยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของสมาพันธ์ฟุตบอลเอเชีย โดยโซนเอเชียได้รับโควตาทั้งหมด 4 ทีม กับอีก 1 ทีมที่มีสิทธิ์ไปแข่งรอบเพลย์ออฟกับทีมจากโซนอื่น ๆ โซนเอเชียเริ่มแข่งขันเป็นครั้งแรกในวันที่ 6 ถึง 11 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2562.[1]

[แก้]- ↑ Timor-Leste was barred from participating in the Asian Cup qualification after being found to have fielded a total of 12 ineligible players in 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification matches among other competitions.[2] However, as FIFA did not barred them from the World Cup qualifiers, Timor-Leste was still allowed to enter the competition, but was ineligible to qualify for the Asian Cup.
- 1 2 Macau did not send their team for the second leg due to safety reasons following the 2019 Sri Lanka Easter bombings.[3] The AFC referred the matter to FIFA,[4] and FIFA announced on 27 June 2019 that the match was declared a 3–0 forfeit victory to Sri Lanka, and consequently qualifying Sri Lanka to the second round.[5]
- ↑ Macau played their home match against Sri Lanka in Zhuhai, China, due to ongoing maintenance of Estádio Campo Desportivo.[6]
- ↑ The home match of Malaysia against Timor-Leste, originally to be played on 6 June 2019, was later postponed due to Eid al-Fitr celebrations following a request from the Football Association of Malaysia.[7]
