SNV Aviation Private Limited（アカサ・エアとして運航[6]） は、インドのマハラシュトラ州ムンバイに本社を置く格安航空会社である[7][8][9]。

歴史

設立

2021年3月、ジェット・エアウェイズとゴー・ファーストの元最高経営責任者(CEO)であるビナイ・デュベ氏が、インドで新しい格安航空会社の立ち上げを計画していると報道された[10][11]。

2021年7月、インドの億万長者であるラケシュ・ジュンジュンワラ氏が、株式40%となる3,500万米ドルを投資した[12][13][14][15][16][17]。

アカサエアのロゴ、タイトル

2021年12月22日、「It's Your Sky」というキャッチフレーズ、ロゴを発表した[18][19]。

ロゴにも描かれているシンボル「rising A」は、朝日の暖かさ、鳥の優雅な飛行、航空機の翼の信頼性など、空からの要素からインスピレーションを得てデザインされた。

2022年7月初旬、乗務員制服を発表し、ユニークなデザインで広く賞賛された。制服は、モダンなデザインとインドのデザインが融合したデザインとなっており、世界で初めて、リサイクルゴム製のスニーカーを導入した[20][21][22]。

運航開始

2022年7月7日、実証飛行を完了した後、民間航空総局(DGCA)から航空事業者証明書(AOC)を取得した。2022年7月22日には、ウェブサイトで予約受付を開始した[23][24]。

2022年8月7日、ムンバイ-アーメダバード線に週28便で就航し、旅客便運航を開始した。当初、同社はボーイング737 MAX型機2機で運航を開始し、2週間ごとに1機ずつ増設する計画もあった[25][26][27]。

2022年8月25日、データ侵害の被害が発生した。2022年8月28日には、名前、性別、メールアドレス、電話番号などのユーザー情報が、外部の個人に閲覧された可能性があると報告した[28][29][30]。

2023年9月、多くのパイロットが、退職の通告期間を経ずに、競合のエア・インディア・エクスプレスに転職したと報道された。9月末までに、そのような人数は40人以上に増加した。

そのため、人員不足が深刻になり、8月には700便以上、9月にはさらに多くのフライトが欠航した。余儀なくされたため、運航上の損失と評判の低下に直面したと述べた。当社は、パイロットに対して、航空会社に戻り、退職通知期間を終え、航空会社が被った損失の補償として一定額を支払うよう求めていたとも報道されている。エア・インディア・エクスプレスは、パイロットがアカサ・エアに一定額の保証金を支払うと発表した[31][32][33][34][35]。

2023年12月、国際線の運航許可を取得し、2024年3月28日から、ムンバイ-ドーハ線で国際線運航を開始した[36][37][38]。

機材発注

2021年のドバイ航空ショーにおいて、ボーイング737 MAX型機72機を発注し、2022年6月16日に最初のボーイング737 MAX 8を受領した。

2023年のパリ航空ショーの期間中、ボーイング737 MAX 8型機4機を追加発注した。

さらに、2024年1月18日、ボーイング737 MAX型機150機を追加発注した。

サービス

格安航空会社モデルのサービスを行っている。

機内食を提供していないが、機内で飲食物を購入できる独自のケータリングサービスを運営している。また、機内エンターテイメント(IFE)システムも導入していない。

また、「フレキシプレミアムサービス」を提供しており、食事、座席選択、優先権、日付変更やキャンセルの費用を低く抑えるられる[65][66]。
