背景

2014年，維珍尼亞·朱弗雷聲稱其17歲時，被已定罪的性罪犯謝菲·愛潑斯坦和格希萊恩·麥克斯韋爾販賣至安德魯處進行性交易。安德魯否認有任何不當行為[3][4]。在其與愛潑斯坦和麥克斯韋爾的關係受到輿論批評後，安德魯於2020年5月辭去所有公職[5]。

立案及傳送訴訟文件

2021年8月，維珍尼亞·朱弗雷於美國紐約南區聯邦地區法院入稟，控告安德魯，指控他「性侵犯及故意造成情緒困擾」[6]。朱弗雷的律師指出，安德魯對她造成「嚴重且持續的情緒創傷」[7]。訴訟金額未有披露[6]，案件是根據《紐約州兒童受害者法案》提起。該法例為因追訴期已過的案件提供受害者重啟訴訟的機會[8]。

根據朱弗雷律師團向美國法院提交的宣誓書，2021年8月27日，訴訟文件被遞交至溫莎皇家小屋內的倫敦警務處辦公室[9][10]。然而，安德魯的法律團隊否認該文件已依法送達[11]。英格蘭及威爾斯高等法院其後同意，如有需要，可代為送達相關法律文件[12]。根據《海牙送達公約》，朱弗雷的律師可要求高等法院正式通知王子其民事訴訟事宜[13]。

撤銷訴訟的嘗試

取證階段

在訴訟的取證階段，雙方預計將進行約8至12次庭外證詞紀錄[40][43]。法官卡普蘭早前規定，所有證詞必須於2022年7月14日前提交[44]。安德魯與朱弗雷均需在宣誓下作證，並接受對方律師交叉詢問[45]。安德魯原定於2022年3月10日起在倫敦接受朱弗雷律師戴維·博伊斯與西格麗德·麥考利為期兩天的宣誓作證[46]。案件亦可能要求其他王室成員及王室安保人員提供法律證詞[47]。

2022年2月15日，雙方在聯合聲明中宣佈達成庭外和解，其中包括安德魯向維珍尼亞·朱弗雷的慈善機構捐贈一筆可觀的金額[62][63]。朱弗雷的律師戴維·博伊斯表示，這項和解「不會以任何方式使他免於可能存在的刑事責任」[62]，並指出朱弗雷並未簽署保密協議[64]。不過，多家媒體報導推測雙方可能另有保密條款，僅於女王白金禧慶典結束前生效[65]。後續報導指出，雙方確實簽署協議，同意在白金禧期間對案件與財務安排保持沉默，但該禁言條款已於2023年2月到期，使朱弗雷得以公開談論其指控[66]。和解條款的細節至今未被披露[67]。
