네눈주머니쥐는 주머니쥐과에 속하는 네눈주머니쥐속(Philander) 유대류의 총칭이다. 7종의 주머니쥐로 이루어져 있다. 암컷 주머니쥐는 잘 발달한 육아낭을 갖고 있다. 몸에서 5~6 cm까지의 꼬리 기부(基部)에 긴 털이 조금 있는 것을 제외하고는 꼬리에는 털이 보이지 않는다.
