第九届国际斯托克·曼德维尔运动会（英語：9th Annual International Stoke Mandeville Games），即1960年夏季残疾人奥林匹克运动会，是第一届残疾人奥林匹克运动会，其前身是1948年至1952年举办的斯托克·曼德维尔运动会（今世界能力运动会）。赛会由国际斯托克·曼德维尔运动会联合会（International Stoke Mandeville Games Federation）主办[1]。国际奥林匹克委员会于1984年批准使用“Paralympic”一词[2]，1989年，国际残疾人奥林匹克委员会初创。

赛事于1960年9月18日至25日在罗马（1960年奥运会举办地）举行，当时只设脊椎损伤一个残疾组别。是届赛事共有23国（地区）400人参赛[2][3][4][5][6]。

斯托克·曼德维尔运动会创办者古特曼和脊椎中心负责人马格里奥（意大利语：Antonio_Maglio_(medico)）在英国境外组织了首届运动会[7][8]。
