A barn is a agricultural building used usually on farms and for various purposes. Most barns are used for storage The word barn comes from the Old English word, bere, for barley which means grain, and aern, for a storage place. A barn could contain a stable, for housing horses or similar animals. Most barns with a stable in them, could also be called a stable barn. In most places around the world, barns are normally painted red with white trims.
