Edward Joseph Dwight Jr. (born September 9, 1933) is an American sculptor, author, former test pilot, and astronaut. He is the first African American to have entered the Air Force training program from which NASA picked astronauts. He was not selected to officially join NASA.
Dwight finally was able to go to space in May 2024 on Blue Origin NS-25, becoming the oldest person to fly in space.[1]
