[change | change source]History
[change | change source]Genmab started as a spinoff of an American company called Medarex. BankInvest provided the early money to start the business.[5]
In 2008, the CEO Lisa Natale Drakeman was the highest-paid director in Denmark, earning 28.6 million DKK.[6] However, the company faced hard times in 2009. They lost 965 million DKK[7] and had to lay off more than half of their workers (about 300 people).[8]
In 2010, Jan van de Winkel became the new CEO. Under his leadership, the company recovered its value. He has over 20 years of experience and has written over 300 scientific papers.[9]
