Talk:Collectivism
Add topicTerrible, politically slanted definition
[change source]"Collectivists focus on what's good for a whole group. Individualists focus on what's good for each person." This is a very political statement. Merriam-Webster defines collectivism in this neutral fashion: "a political or economic theory advocating collective control especially over production and distribution." I am an individualist especially BECAUSE individualism is also good for the whole group, and collectivism is destructive to the whole group. Individual rights and the individual's control over their own affairs are a prerequisite for a healthy society, hence also good for society as a whole. Collectivists may, politically, claim that they have the greater good in mind, but no matter whether they do or do not believe in this, the results tend to be destructive. History holds endless examples of this, and few to the contrary. 208.123.207.154 (talk) 22:16, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
