[change source]I would like to request comments from the community on having the term "Mental disabilities" included in this article, referring to Mental health problems. In English, there are lots of different terms including the word "mental" (like mental handicap) which are old terms for people with Learning difficulties. Mental health problems are not disabilities and should not be talked about as if they are. Mental health problems can be treated and controlled with medicine.
Should the term "Mental disabilities" be removed from this article? DaneGeld (talk) 19:02, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Done removed - Whoever added the wikilink probably assumed it simply went to Intellectual disability, But I agree Mental health doesn't even come close and as such it's more offensive than anything to list it so I've removed it, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 19:43, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- I thought this would be me or something but looking at the date it was not. And searching through the history for the page there is one revision with the edit note: (commons) changed cat to/from "People with disabilities" and I would like to throw out "People with mental disabilities" (subcat, sort-of) for when you are referring to them as a group of people. A person with mental health problems can still be that - I don't know if you are looking back at this today what you think (you do not have to say) about whether the article turned out well or if there are improvements you see. I will just ping you and leave; leave it to you all to touch-up the article.
- Going to ping for visibility and for these articles to be checked and updated from time to time { User:Catcus_DeMeowwy { Catcus DeMeowwy (talk) | User_talk:Catcus DeMeowwy 19:01, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
