Template:Inconsistent
Appearance
Use this template to mark statements that are inconsistent with other parts of the article. This will place articles in Category:Inconsistent articles.
Usage
[edit]{{Inconsistent|date=September 2025}}
{{Inconsistent|date=September 2025|reason=What the problem is.}}
Parameters
[edit]|date=
- This template allows an optional date parameter that records the month and year for when the template was transcluded. If this template is added without the date parameter, the date parameter will be added soon after by a bot.
|reason=
- Because it may not be immediately apparent to other editors what the inconsistency is, it is generally helpful to add a brief reason for the tag. For example, the following usage might be appropriate to the claim that "Humphrey Bogart was an avid snooker player" when previously it was stated that he "hated snooker":
{{Inconsistent|reason=Why was he an avid player if he "hated snooker" as written above?|date=August 2025}}
The|reason=
parameter is displayed as a tooltip in some browsers (hover the mouse here [inconsistent] to check behaviour of your browser). If the explanation would be lengthy, use the article's talk page.
TemplateData
[edit]This is the TemplateData for this template used by TemplateWizard, VisualEditor and other tools. See a monthly parameter usage report for Template:Inconsistent in articles based on its TemplateData.
