I saw on Wikipedia:Simple talk that you were looking for help with Minnesota articles. As the weather improves, I want to work on Michigan articles and am willing to help with articles on Minnesota as well! Let me know if this interests you! WMrapids (talk) 01:26, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thanks for the interest in helping me with minnesota articles. Currently I am working on getting the branches of the Hennepin County Library onto Simple English. RfD nomination of Orange Cat Funny

[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of Orange Cat Funny, a page you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the page meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2025/Orange Cat Funny and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the page during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Ternera (talk) 19:59, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think that they made the article as an April fools joke Cute Opossums (talk) 15:43, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No I did not. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 15:43, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is real, just not notable (see orangecatfunny.com) Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 15:57, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I saw that most of the edit summaries you use contain Autobox. What is it exactly? Is it a bot? Cactus🌵 spiky 12:57, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not a bot. Ive made it as a program to quickly add cleanup tags and stubs to pages. I am making edits so quickly because I am using Special:Random to quickly find articles that have no sources to quickly add the no sources tag. It works for other tags too. If you want to try and use it you can copy page This Script into your common.js. If there is any bugs please tell me about them. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 15:08, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh,okay. Alright. Cactus🌵 spiky 03:02, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you add a button to close the thing? Cactus🌵 spiky 13:16, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would a close or a minimize be better? Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 13:42, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
yess Cactus🌵 spiky 22:15, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Currently it blocks half the page on mobile. Cactus🌵 spiky 10:26, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Does the minimize button work fine? I'll work on scaling later today. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 11:52, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The minimize button is invisible, but it workd. Cactus🌵 spiky 11:54, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You click on the top bar to minimize. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 11:55, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have a version with a minimize button. I will revert to it now since clicking the topbar is more confusing than a button. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 11:55, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think you should make it more visible maybe with a red 'x' Cactus🌵 spiky 11:56, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Button should be fine Cactus🌵 spiky 11:56, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Its buggy, i cant seem to scroll down to stubs Cactus🌵 spiky 11:57, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This has been happening or it just started happening with the button version? Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:00, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cactus🌵 spiky 10:03, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why this happens. I've checked the HTML code and the button is displaying as 48px:48px which should be a perfectly fine size but for some reason it just doesn't want to abide by its code. I'm looking into this, please bear with me! Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 00:53, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, no problem Cactus🌵 spiky 01:52, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that tagging articles like this en masse is strongly discouraged. It actively makes articles look worse for years on end, without having any impact on the actual problem at hand. For instance, with Amondans, the one source tag did not need to be added to the article. It did have one source, so yes, it technically can have the tag on, but is that truly the issue here? The article is not difficult to verify, or controversial in what it contains. The issue is its length, but there is no problem in the sourcing with its current length, therefore this tag is not really appropriate here. Please try and fix issues yourself or consider whether a tag is truly necessary as a first port of call. --Ferien (talk | join TBA!) 21:31, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 21:41, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Categorizing

[change source]

Hello, Ieditrandomarticles. I noticed that you were adding categories to articles -- thanks very much for doing that.

I would like to ask that you add a more complete set of categories, though, so that we don't lose track of articles that need more. As soon as one category is added, the article no longer appears as uncategorized and we don't have anything to point out that more are needed.

For example, this change you made added a category for business people. Categories for people need more than that. They need categories for birth and death years (or the living people category if the person is alive) and for where they are from. They might need others depending on the person. I've started trying to add categories to address the "Five Ws": who, what, when, where, and why. Some article don't need all of those, but they're a good way to think about it.

Thanks again, and feel free to let me know if you have any questions about this. -- Auntof6 (talk) 04:27, 29 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've added more categories to Dariush Soudi, just to make sure, is this enough categories? Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:07, 29 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It would be benneficial to have a {{More Categories}} template
It would be like how we have {{No Sources}} and {{More Sources}} or {{One Source}}
The same would be {{No Category}} and {{More Categories}} or {{One Category}}
I don't know if this is actually feasible but I personally think it could help. (Pairing it with categories like Category:Category needed already does) Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 00:58, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps this one? {{Improve categories}} TagUser (talk) 01:02, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That one sounds more like it's using the wrong (or atleast, there could be better) categories. I meant something more specifically for it. That one could work though. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 01:04, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
*it being the article. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 01:05, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, those categories are pretty good. The only thing missing is something indicating his nationality, and maybe place of birth (if he was born somewhere that we have a "People from" category for). -- Auntof6 (talk) 01:09, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We don't have a category for people from Iran. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 01:35, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We certainly do! We have Category:Iranian people. Not only that, but there's Category:Iranian businesspeople, which would be even better on this article. -- Auntof6 (talk) 05:51, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I was searching for People from location instead of location people. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:03, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you do know there are templates for RFD votes? They are: keep, {{vk}}, Delete: {{vd}}, QD: {{vqd}} . These are the main ones. Cactus🌵 spiky 10:50, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do! A full list of all of them are at Template:DeleteVote/doc. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:05, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You used an image for this? I don't know why but now your comment is highlighted orange. Cactus🌵 spiky 12:09, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I used subst:vqd. I thought you were supposed to substitute any templates in comments? If not then I can update that. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:11, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's not orange (or yellow as you said in the change summary) for me, maybe it is one of the extensions you have installed. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:13, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's better to just use the template, {{vqd}} . Cactus🌵 spiky 12:14, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, ill update that. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 12:15, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, it's probably one of the many scripts I have. Cactus🌵 spiky 12:15, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
oh wait I figured it out, I have a script which highlight unreliable references. Your's looked orange to me as it had a reference in it. Cactus🌵 spiky 12:54, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have closed you GA nomination as not done as there are still issues to be addressed. Please free feel to renominate when you feel it is ready. Cactus🌵 spiky 09:36, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what issues need to be addressed. To me, it looks like it reads well but I keep getting reasons as to why it doesn't. Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 16:24, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Try looking the through the requirements again. it need to be simplified Cactus🌵 spiky 00:39, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Is it simplified enough now? Ieditrandomarticles (talk | contribs) 17:54, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
