FAQ

1. Why you reverted my edit/s?

A: I notice your contributions are either generally unconstructive or unsourced, If you think I was wrong, let me know and explain it to me : )

2. Why you decline my submission?

A: I put the reason why your draft is declined, please read it (sometimes, I even put comment for clarification). If you need help try asking Wikipedia:Teahouse.

3. Why you tagged the article I created for speedy deletion/Article for Deletion?

A: Try reading the deletion rationale I put on the AFD nomination page or the CSD. I done the process before tagging it, and I believe that it is against what Wikipedia is whether it is something that is on the criteria for speedy deletion or what wikipedia is not.

4. Why you draftify my article?

A: I notice that your article has a lot of issue and/or not suitable for the mainspace/article space. If you change the issue feel free to move back the article to mainspace (please beware that if the issue is still not fixed specially for notability issues, it might be nominated to Article for Deletion) or ping me using {{ping|Miminity}}.

5. Why (insert article) tagged with (insert maintenance tag)?

A: Here is a detail explaination on why

Temporary account IP viewer granted

[edit]
The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Wikipedia globe with a user and an IP address

Hello, Miminity. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with an IP address or CIDR range.

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! Sohom (talk) 14:23, 24 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2025 September newsletter

[edit]

The fourth round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 29 August. The penultimate round saw three contestants score more than 800 points:

Everyone who competed in Round 4 will advance to Round 5 unless they have withdrawn. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far, while the full scores for Round 4 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 9 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 98 good articles, 9 good topic articles, more than 150 reviews, nearly 100 did you know articles, and 18 in the news articles.

In advance of the fifth and final round, the judges would like to thank every contestant for their hard work. As a reminder, any content promoted after 29 August but before the start of Round 5 can be claimed in Round 5. In addition, note that Round 5 will end on 31 October at 23:59 UTC. Awards at the end of Round 5 will be distributed based on who has the most tournament points over all five rounds, and special awards will be distributed based on high performance in particular areas of content creation (e.g., most featured articles in a single round).

Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges – Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs), Epicgenius (talk · contribs), Frostly (talk · contribs), Guerillero (talk · contribs) and Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs) – are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck!

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Fukura P. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in red at the top of the page. Thanks. Reply your note

[edit]

Thank you for your review of Putri Ariani's article. I created it because I saw on Wikidata that it was deleted in 2023. I then recreated it by translating the article from the Indonesian Wikipedia. Regarding DYK, I still don't understand how to propose it, how important its purpose is, and so on. But could you please help me get the article listed on DYK? 𝄃𝄃𝄂Badak𝄂𝄀𝄁𝄃 🕭 12:21, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Badak Jawa: An example of this one is one of my nomination above, regarding the Swertia japonica, which appears on the Did You Know section of the main page today. It is to show case the articles you created to others and drive traction in to it. I try to help with the hook, you just nominate it to at WP:DYKCNN (click the create DYK nomination)
For the main hook:
  • ... that '''[[Putri Ariani]]''' was prematurely born at 6 months? (use the source 6 for the source)
You can add other quirky and fun facts about her.
You don't need the to review other nomination yet. You can add image if you want. If you are done, just click submit and wait for the review. If it was approved, just wait until it put in the preps into queues by us, prep makers and wait until it apprears in the main page. Try to fix the problems, the reviewer pointed out if there is any. Have fun at DYK. Ping me if there is any problems, or when you nominate so I can look is you done it right. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 12:54, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If I summited another DYK nom, I might review yours Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 12:54, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Miminity I have nominated Putri Ariani's article in Template:Did you know nominations/Putri Ariani after that what is the next process? 𝄃𝄃𝄂Badak𝄂𝄀𝄁𝄃 🕭 13:22, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I just fix minor thing, Just wait any reviews (usually within a week). I ask for DYK reviewers to also ping me to guide you. But, if there is any issue raised that you know you can fix, try to fix it. But, if you don't know. I'll try to fix it. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?)
