Hi Nthep, I was just wondering about your removal of the rd1 tag on Rejected Nicktoons (Nickelodeon). All the best! Casablanca 🪨(T) 19:20, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

sorry about that, the script sometimes doesn't work properly when the page is a redirect. All sorted now. Nthep (talk) 19:43, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! Thanks so much for fixing that! Casablanca 🪨(T) 19:57, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I was the original tagger of this page, but self-declined after it came to my attention that the author may hold the copyright here (see my talk). I don't know what's going on behind the scenes with VRT, but as far as I was aware they were in the process of donating the text of that sandbox, hence the {{permission pending}} on the talk. I'm a bit out of my depth here and the editor seems quite frustrated, so I was wondering if you could help me out? Thanks, UpTheOctave! • 8va? 21:40, 2 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Where do you get off deleting a submission that had already been confirmed?

[edit]

My name is D J Forsyth, I wrote the article you just out of hand deleted from my sandbox. What you didnt do evedently was ANY work to see if the copy-write was mine. Oh wait, IT IS! Not only had I emailed in the required information to this, I was able to document all work done by me as it even STATES ON THE FREAKING DHR WEBSITE I AM THE AUTHOR! As well I am the photographer who took the photos. I gave them freedom to use MY writing for educational purposes and for submission to the historical depts needed to get historical status on MY FARM as I now own it. You are not an editor you are the opposite of one. I am an internationally published writer who has dealt with editors my last 30 years. An editor investigates any possible allegations by reaching out to the writer. You are not an editor and should be ashamed of yourself. Dfblizz (talk) 21:45, 2 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration

  • After a motion, arbitration enforcement page protections no longer need to be logged in the AELOG. A bot now automatically posts protections at WP:AELOG/P. To facilitate this bot, protection summaries must include a link to the relevant CT page (e.g. [[WP:CT/BLP]]), and you will receive talk page reminders if you forget to specify the contentious topic but otherwise indicate it is an AE action.

I believe this discussion was closed incorrectly: there was a clear significant doubt about the freedom of this file. See also WP:NOCONSENSUS. —Matrix ping mewhen u reply (t? - c) 18:40, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Matrix I'm aware of the precautionary principle. However here I read not only the arguments on the page but the copyright compendium and decisions of the copyright office in refusing registration and I'm persuaded that it is below the threshold of originality for US copyright. Perhaps it's borderline by NOCONSENSUS does not require deletion, it leaves it to the closing admin's discretion. I exercised the discretion to retain it. Fair enough, that you don't agree with my closure, you can either renominate it or take it to WP:DRV. Nthep (talk) 19:06, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, listed at DRV. —Matrix ping mewhen u reply (t? - c) 19:19, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Popped it on my watchlist. Nthep (talk) 19:25, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

etalab-2.0 license

[edit]

Hi. I hope you don't mind a copyright-related question. I came across Joseph de Bouloc and noted that the Biography section is pretty much a direct translation of the source it is referenced to [2]. There's no copyright notice on that page, but going to the base URL, it redirects to the Archives nationales d'outre-mer site, which has this at the bottom Sauf mention contraire, tous les contenus de ce site sont sous licence etalab-2.0 - that licence is I think this one, which by my reading allows use that is compatible with enwiki's licensing requirements. However, I couldn't find any previous discussion of that licence in project space. I suppose my two questions are:

  • Is it OK to leave the translation as is?
  • If it is OK, what kind of public domain template should I stick at the bottom. Is it the {{Source-attribution}} one, or is there a more specific one? I found this Commons one but I don't think I can use that on enwiki.

Thanks as ever for your help. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 11:55, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@SunloungerFrog the licence appears to be compatible - certainly there's a lot of stuff on Commons using it. I don't see a suitable attribution template, here on en:wp but it's quite a quick job to create one, if you're minded to. Nthep (talk) 14:43, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
