సభ్యులకు నమస్కారం. తెవికిబడి కార్యక్రమాలు ముందుకు తీసుకుని వెళ్లే విషయం గురించి సభ్యులనుండి ఎటువంటి అభిప్రాయాలు నమోదు కాలేదు కాబట్టి తెలుగు వికీ వాడుకరులు అభీష్టం, అభ్యర్ధన మేరకు తరగతులు నిర్వహించాలనే అభిప్రాయానికి రావడం జరిగింది.

• వాడుకరులు కొత్తవారైనా, అనుభవం ఉన్నవారైనా కూడా తమకు కావలసిన అంశాలలో శిక్షణ కావాలని వ్రాయవచ్చు.
• ఎక్కువమంది ఒకే అంశం సూచించినా, కేవలం ఒక వ్యక్తి సూచించినా శిక్షణ ఏర్పాటు చేయడం జరుగుతుంది.
• తరగతులకు ప్రధానంగా ఆదివారం మధ్యాహ్నం 2.30-4.30 వరకు అనుకూలంగా ఉంటుందని భావిస్తున్నాము.

ఈ రెండిటిలో తెవికీలో దేనిని ప్రామాణికంగా తీసుకోవాలి

బెంగళూరు, బెంగుళూరు అనే రెండు పేర్లతో వ్యాసాలు, వర్గాలు ఉన్నవి. నాకు తెలిసినంతవరకు బెంగళూరు అని తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలలో, జన బాహుళ్యంలో బాగా ప్రాచ్యుర్యం పొంది వాడుకలో ఉంది. అంతేగాదు ఈనాడు, ఆంధ్రజ్వోతి, టివి9 వెబ్సైట్, ఇంకా ఇతర పత్రికలలో బెంగళూరు అని రాస్తున్నారు. బెంగుళూరు అనేది ఆంగ్ల వ్యాసం (Bengaluru) ఉచ్ఛారణకు కూడా తగినది కాదు. తెవికీలో 2006లో సృష్టించిన వ్యాసం బెంగళూరు అనే శీర్షికతోనే ఉంది. కావున వ్యాసాలు గానీ, వర్గాలు కానీ బెంగళూరు అనే ఉండాలని నా అభిప్రాయం. యర్రా రామారావు (చర్చ) 17:11, 22 ఏప్రిల్ 2025 (UTC)

నగరం యొక్క సరైన అధికారిక పేరు బెంగళూరు.. నార్వే వ్యాసాల పోటీ ముగిసింది. @Divya4232 గారిది మొదటిస్థానం. నేను, సుజాత, మమత, భవ్య, ప్రవల్లిక గార్లు కూడా పాల్గొన్నాం. ఆ పోటీలో నన్ను ఆకట్టుకున్నది, మార్కులు వేసే పద్ధతి. దాన్ని మనం కాపీ చేసి ఇక్కడ కూడా పోటీలు పెట్టుకోవచ్చు.

పోతే -

ఏప్రిల్ 1 న పోటీ మొదలైంది. మేం చేరేసరికి సగం రోజులు గడిచాయి. అప్పటికే పదివేల పాయింట్లు సాధించిన వాదుకరి ఉన్నారక్కడ. అతను 20 వేలకు చేరేసరికి దివ్య గారు అతన్ని దాటేసారు. నేనూ, ఇంకొకరూ అతని దరిదాపులకు చేరాం. ఆ మొదటి స్థానంలోని వ్యక్తి విరక్తి చెంది, వీళ్ళు బాట్‌లు వాడుతున్నారనుకుంటాను, నేను ఇలాంటి పని చెయ్యలేను అంటూ పోటీ నుండి తప్పుకున్నారు. ఆ తరవాత అతన్ని దాటేసాం, రెండు మూడు స్థానాలకు చేరాం. పోటీ నిర్వాహకులు, ఇకపై అనువాద పరికరం ద్వారా రాసేవాటికి సగం పాయింట్లే ఇవ్వ్వాలేమో చూస్తాను అని అన్నారు.

నిస్సంకోచంగా కొన్ని సంగతులు చెప్పవచ్చు -

• మా వేగానికి కారణం అనువాదాలే
• అనువాద పరికరం ఉన్నదే అనువాదాలు చేసేందుకు, దాన్ని వాడడంలో తప్పేం లేదు.
• అనువాద పరికరాన్ని వాడేదే వేగం కోసం, అందులో తప్పేం లేదు.
• అనువాద పరికరం రాసే భాష బాగోదు, కృతకంగా ఉంటుంది, దాన్ని సరిచేసి ప్రచురించాలి. పోటీలో గెలిచేందుకు గాను మేం నాణ్యతను కొంత నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసి ఉండవచ్చు. నావరకు నేను, నే రాసిన వ్యాసాలను అవసరమైన మేరకు సరిచేసి నాణ్యతను మెరుగుపరుస్తాను.

అయితే -

ఇలాంటి పోటీల్లో - అనువాద పరికరం ద్వారా రాసేవాటికి సగం పాయింట్లే ఇవ్వాలని అనుకోవడం హాస్యాస్పదం. ఎందుకంటే -

• పరికరం వాడకపోయినా, గూగుల్ అనువాదం సైటు ద్వారా అనువదించి ప్రచురించవచ్చు. అంతే వేగం ఉంటుంది. దాన్నెలా అడ్డుకోగలరు?
• అనువాద పరికరం ద్వారా జరిగే మంచి పనులు (వికీలింకులు, మూలాలు, మూసలు, వర్గాలు, బొమ్మలు.. వగైరాలు ఆటోమాటిగ్గా వచ్చేస్తాయి) పై పద్ధతిలో జరగవు. వాడుకరే స్వయంగా మానవికంగా చెయ్యాలి. అది అనవసరం. యంత్రం భేషుగ్గా, వేగంగా చేసే ఈ పనులను మానవికంగా చెయ్యాలనుకోవడం తెలివి తక్కువతనం. అంటే, పోటీల్లో అనువాద పరికరం వాడుకను తగ్గించేందుకు చేసే ప్రయత్నం ఫలించకపోగా, దానివలన కలిగే ప్రయోజనాలు వికీలకూ, వాడుకరులకూ లభించకుండా పోతై.

అంచేత అనువాద పరికరం వాడి అనువాదాలు చెయ్యాల్సిందే. అప్పుడే మన సమయం ఆదా అవుతుంది. తెవికీ వేగంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందుతుంది.

రెండు తెలుగురాష్ట్రాల శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గాల నాణ్యత, అభివృద్ధి ప్రాజెక్టు

తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గాల వ్యాసాలలో అభివృద్ధి, నాణ్యత నియంత్రణలో భాగంగా ప్రాజెక్టు పేజీ నొకదానిని సృష్టించటమైనది. ప్రస్తుతం 2008 డిలిమిటేషన్ ప్రకారం తెలంగాణలో 119 శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గాలు, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో 175 శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గాలు ఉన్నవి.ఈ వ్యాస పేజీలు అన్నీ 2008 డీలిమిటేషన్ తర్వాత సృష్టించబడినవి. ఈ నియోజకవర్గాలలోని సమాచారం కొన్ని వ్యాసాలలో ఆంగ్లపదాలతో కొన్ని వ్యాసాలలో, ఒకే పదం ఆంగ్ల భాష, తెలుగు భాషలతో, కొన్నివ్యాసాలలో పట్టికలు కలర్ పార్మెటుతో, కొన్ని వ్యాసాలలో కలర్ ఫార్మెట్ లేకుండా, ఒకే వ్యాసంలో కొంత భాగం కలర్ ఫార్మెటుతో, కలర్ ఫార్మెటు లేకుండా ఇలా ఒక పద్దతి అంటూ లేకుండా ఉన్నవి.అలాగే కొన్ని వ్యాసాలలో గెలిచిన అభ్యర్థుల సమాచారంతో ఉండగా, మరికొన్ని వ్యాసాలలో అసంపూర్తి సమాచారంతో ఉన్నవి. వీటిలో గమనించిన లోపాలు ప్రాజెక్టు పేజీలో పొందుపర్చటమైనది. వాటిన్నిటిని అధిగమించి ఆంగ్లవ్యాసాలతో దీటుగా తాజా సమాచారంతో ఏకరీతిలో ఉండటానికి ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశ్యం.

I would like to bring to your attention two technical issues that I encounter every day.

1. Naturally, if you want to add a link to any title, there is an option in the visual edit mode and the source edit mode. However, when editing directly in the edit mode in the info box, there is no option to add a link. To add a link, you have to find the title in another browser and use square brackets for it. This is very difficult.

2. When translating an English article from the translation tool, the same Wikidata link is automatically added, but the templates are imported from the English Wikipedia. The imported templates have to be linked back to Wikidata manually. It would be nice to have a facility to connect it automatically. యర్రా రామారావు (చర్చ) 07:17, 29 మే 2025 (UTC)

RfC ongoing regarding Abstract Wikipedia (and your project)

Hello all! We opened a discussion on Meta about a very delicate issue for the development of Abstract Wikipedia: where to store the abstract content that will be developed through functions from Wikifunctions and data from Wikidata. Since some of the hypothesis involve your project, we wanted to hear your thoughts too.

We want to make the decision process clear: we do not yet know which option we want to use, which is why we are consulting here. We will take the arguments from the Wikimedia communities into account, and we want to consult with the different communities and hear arguments that will help us with the decision. The decision will be made and communicated after the consultation period by the Foundation.

Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees 2025 Selection & Call for Questions

Dear all,

This year, the term of 2 (two) Community- and Affiliate-selected Trustees on the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees will come to an end [1]. The Board invites the whole movement to participate in this year’s selection process and vote to fill those seats.

The Elections Committee will oversee this process with support from Foundation staff [2]. The Governance Committee, composed of trustees who are not candidates in the 2025 community-and-affiliate-selected trustee selection process (Raju Narisetti, Shani Evenstein Sigalov, Lorenzo Losa, Kathy Collins, Victoria Doronina and Esra’a Al Shafei) [3], is tasked with providing Board oversight for the 2025 trustee selection process and for keeping the Board informed. More details on the roles of the Elections Committee, Board, and staff are here [4].

Here are the key planned dates:

• May 22 – June 5: Announcement (this communication) and call for questions period [6]
• June 17 – July 1, 2025: Call for candidates
• July 2025: If needed, affiliates vote to shortlist candidates if more than 10 apply [5]
• August 2025: Campaign period
• August – September 2025: Two-week community voting period
• October – November 2025: Background check of selected candidates
• Board’s Meeting in December 2025: New trustees seated

Call for Questions

In each selection process, the community has the opportunity to submit questions for the Board of Trustees candidates to answer. The Election Committee selects questions from the list developed by the community for the candidates to answer. Candidates must answer all the required questions in the application in order to be eligible; otherwise their application will be disqualified. This year, the Election Committee will select 5 questions for the candidates to answer. The selected questions may be a combination of what’s been submitted from the community, if they’re alike or related. [link]

Election Volunteers

Another way to be involved with the 2025 selection process is to be an Election Volunteer. Election Volunteers are a bridge between the Elections Committee and their respective community. Update from A2K team: May 2025

Hello everyone,

We’re happy to share that the Access to Knowledge (A2K) program has now formally become part of the Raj Reddy Centre for Technology and Society at IIIT-Hyderabad. Going forward, our work will continue under the name Open Knowledge Initiatives.

The new team includes most members from the former A2K team, along with colleagues from IIIT-H already involved in Wikimedia and Open Knowledge work. Through this integration, our commitment to partnering with Indic Wikimedia communities, the GLAM sector, and broader open knowledge networks remains strong and ongoing. Upcoming Deployment of the CampaignEvents Extension

The Campaigns Product Team is planning a global deployment of the CampaignEvents extension to all Wikipedias, including this wiki, during the week of June 23rd.

This extension is designed to help organizers plan and manage events, WikiProjects, and other on-wiki collaborations - and to make these efforts more discoverable.

The three main features of this extension are:

• Event Registration: A simple way to sign up for events on the wiki.
• Collaboration List: A global list of events and a local list of WikiProjects, accessible at Special:AllEvents.
• Invitation Lists: A tool to help organizers find editors who might want to join, based on their past contributions.

Note: The extension comes with a new user right called "Event Organizer", which will be managed by administrators on this wiki. Organizer tools like Event Registration and Invitation Lists will only work if someone is granted this right. The Collaboration List is available to everyone immediately after deployment.

The extension is already live on several wikis, including Meta, Wikidata, English Wikipedia, and more ( See the full deployment list)
